AB-220KC Dot Matrix printer :: Network Setup

Ethernet configuration

 
NOTE: Download the IP configuration tool from www.aztpos.com then Unzip the file onto your desktop

Preparing the AB-220KC-LAN
  • Turn off the power
  • Plug the Ethernet cable from the PC directly into the 220KC
  • Hold the FEED paper button
  • Turn on the 220KC
  • After 2 seconds, release the FEED paper button
  • A self-test page will print out with the IP address at the top​

Changing IP address (Windows)
 
  • Press the start button
  • In the “Search programs and files” window, type "Ncpa.cpl"
  •      Or press Windows button + R
  •      In the “Run” window, type "Ncpa.cpl"
  • Right click “Local area connection”
  • Select “Properties”
  • Select “Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”
  • Click the properties button
  • Click “Use the following IP address”
  • In IP address box, type in the self-test page IP address from the printer
  •      In the last part, change this number to something different than the self-test page IP address. 
  •      Example 1: if the printer the self-test page says 192.168.2.1, use 192.168.2.5
  •      Example 2: if the printer the self-test page says 192.168.1.20, use 192.168.1.21
  • In the Subnet mask, type:  255.255.255.0
  • In the default gateway, type the self-test page IP address
  • Press OK

Setting the new IP address
  • Double click the IP configuration ( ZQIPSetting )
  • Change the “Port” setting to NET
  • In the IP box, type in the IP that is on the self-test page
  • In the “New IP” box type in an IP address that is useable on your network, this IP would match that of your router.
  •      Example 1: if your IP address is 192.168.1.1, try using an IP address such as 192.168.1.10
  •      Example 2: if your IP address is 10.0.0.1, try using an IP address such as 10.0.0.15
  • Press the “Set IP” button
  • The printer should beep in confirmation
  • Turn the printer power button off, and then back on again
  • To confirm the setting, you can print out a self-test page

Installing printer drivers for the 220KC (Windows)
NOTE: Download the 220KC drivers from www.aztpos.com then Unzip the drivers to your desktop
 
  • In the “Search programs and files” window, type “control printers"
  •      Or press Windows button + R
  •      In the “Run” window, type “control printers
  • Click “Add Printer” in the upper left of the Devices and Printers window
  • Click “Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer”
  • Click “the printer I was not listed” at the bottom
  • Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or host name”
  • Uncheck “Query printer and automatically select driver to use”
  • Click next
  • On the screen titled “Additional port information required”, click next
  • On the screen titled “Install Printer Driver”, click the “Have Disk” button
  • Click the browse button
  • Navigate to the driver folder on your desktop
  • Select AZT.inf or Zonerich.inf
  • Click Open on the “Install from disk” prompt
  • Click ok 
  • From the list of printers, select AB-220KC
  • In printer name, type in a name you want to give your printer
  • A “Windows Security” Window may pop up; select “Install this driver software anyway”

Checking network Connectivity
 
  • In the “Search programs and files” window, type "control printers"
  •      Or press Windows button + R
  •      In the “Run” window, type "control printers"
  • Right click the icon of the printer you have installed
  • Select “Printer properties”
  • Click the “Print test page” button on the bottom right
  • The printer should print out a “Congratulations” page if the network is configured correctly
